2, Dimethocaine Applications:
Dimethocaine (larocaine) is a local anesthetic with stimulant properties that some studies have shown to be half the potency of cocaine. Dimethocaine also presents strain on the cardiovascular systems, like cocaine (60%), with the potential to induce tachycardia which could be problematic for those who continuously redose. Additional reports of respiratory arrest have been noted.

The chemical has been shown to be more reinforcing than lidocaine in rhesus monkey studies. This is thought to be due to The chemical binding to the Dopamine Active Transporter to a greater degree than Lidocaine. The chemical was found to be only slightly less potent than cocaine at the dopamine transporter with an estimated Ki of 1.4 μM and IC50 of 1.2 μM. Notably both dimethocaine and cocaine produced a twelve fold increase in dopamine concentrations in the striata of test rats. In animal models dimethocaine has been shown to be anxiogenic, reinforcing and a loco motor stimulant like cocaine due to its dopaminergic activity.

The chemical is reported as causing a number of physical effects. It produces strong stimulation, making the user energetic and encouraging activities like talking, dancing and socialising. Stimulation by Dimethocaine has been described as “encouraged” at lower doses and forced at higher doses. At higher doses users have reported being unable to remain still, with shaking of the body, vibration of the extremities, clenching of the jaw and loss of fine motor control reported.
